Halal certification for two RBC food outlets at the airport



Royal Brunei Catering (RBC) was awarded the halal certificate for both the Airport Restaurant and Airport Express Fast Food.
The presentation ceremony was held yesterday at the Airport Restaurant.
Presenting the halal certificates and logos was Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Hj Othman, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, as the guest of honour, to Hj Awg Alaihuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Hj Awg Mohd Taha, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications in his capacity as the chairman of Royal Brunei Catering.
Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awg Badaruddin in his speech said that 'Halalan Thayibun' is the standard that has been regulated by Allah (saw) in food and drink and any ingredients in it.
"In terms of the execution, the first component that is Halalan is controlled by the Halal Meat Act Section 183 and halal certificate and halal logo order 2005, while the Thayiban is controlled by the Public Health (Food) Act 182," he said. The ceremony began with the recital of al-Quran and followed by reading of Ratib Al-Attas.
RBC General Manager, Hj Omar bin HJ Daud, in his opening remarks thanked the RBC team who have shown their commitment towards achieving halal certificates for its products and two food and beverage outlets.
"This excellent hard work should be continued in realising the company's vision to have all its outlets certified halal as part of the responsibilities in honouring 'Fardu Kifayah'. I would like to express my gratitude to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and related government agencies for their guidance and professionalism which has facilitated the certification status achieved by RBC thus far, " he said.
